Autocollimator:- Principle of Autocollimator, Uses, Applications of Autocollimator

Autocollimator: - An autocollimator is an optical instrument for non-contact measurement of angles. They are typically used to align components and measure deflections in optical or mechanical systems.
Principle of Autocollimator:- When a beam of light strikes a flat reflective surface, one part of the beams is absorbed, and the other part is reflected back. If the angle of incidence is zero, that is, incident rays fall perpendicular to the reflective surface, and then the reflected rays reproduce the original path.
Uses:- An autocollimator is an optical device for making angular measurements. It measures microscopic angular differences or deviations to check various properties such as straightness, parallelism, and deflection. Applications of Autocollimator: Checking the straightness of machine tool sideways. Measuring very small angles. Checking parallelism. Checking squareness of column to base. Checking the flatness of bed plates and surface tables. Measuring very small displacements. Checking small linear displacements.
